It’s been another interesting year for everyone that’s for sure, and one that seems to of passed by at a rapid pace. Of course time is absolute, but I’m sure it was only the New Year a few months ago. Either way this didn’t stop you all submitting hundreds of awesome photos for the 2022 Strong Island Calendar with once again an unprecedented amount of entries.
With over 2000 photos submitted for our 9th edition it was certainly a daunting task to select photos for the final calendar. With at least 25/30 hours spent start to finish pulling the final design together and talking with the photographers the result is something we are once again really proud of. With a fantastic selection of 29 new and familiar entrants, our 2022 Calendar features a broad range of professional and amateur photographers, with many of the selected photos being shot on phones.
Each A4 fold out calendar is ring-bound with antique brass, hole punched for hanging and printed on 300sgm Fedrigoni Arcoprint. This wood-free paper has a high-tech, cool white base guaranteeing excellent printability and is held in very high regard in publishing and printing industries. The guys at RIPE certainly delivered with this paper stock. It not only looks amazing as the print finish is second to none, but it feels really premium. Using an in-house HP Indigo 7800 digital press it sets the standard for premium quality digital print. Using liquid ink rather than dry toner powder, the print quality is on par with traditional lithographic printing with the benefits of less waste, which is of course great news for the environment.
Our calendars come in a Kraft button tie envelope with a hand stamped Strong Island logo so they are ready to pop in the post or give as a gift. You can see some photos of our 2021 Calendar below showing the quality, finish and packaging.

As always this is a very limited print run and we always sell out before Christmas so please be quick to avoid disappointment.
Supplier costs have sadly increased again this year. We have done our best to absorb the cost with both the calendar and packaging to keep the same price as last year.
