This year once again saw an unprecedented amount of entries for what is now our 7th Strong Island Calendar. With over 1600 photos submitted it was most certainly a daunting task to select 35 photos for the final calendar. No easy task I can assure you and with over 25 hours spent pulling the final design together the result is something we are really proud of. With a fantastic selection of new and familiar entrants, our 2020 Calendar features a broad range of professional and amateur photographers, with many of the selected photos being shot on phones.
Our 2020 Calendar features photographs from the following people:
Alex Fountain / Andrew Malbon / Billie Rae Cawte / David Tuckwell / Grzegorz Kopacz / Katie Barrett / Lincoln A. Wallace / Lisa Mundy / Louis Stacey / Phil Davies / Sarah Maria Cray / Sarah Marston / Tom Benjamin / Tom Goss / Charley Whitmore / Emma Oliver / Evan Goodwin / Jakub Grzesik / Johnny Black / Jon Tyrrell / Leon Slater / Lizzie Barrett / Michael Mackenzie / Michelle Lucocq / Paul Scott / Shaun Roster / Sarah Fisher
Each A4 fold out calendar is ring-bound with antique brass and printed on 300sgm Fedrigoni *Arcoprint. This wood-free paper has a high-tech, cool white base guaranteeing excellent printability and is held in very high regard in publishing and printing industries. The guys at RIPE certainly delivered with this paper stock. It not only looks amazing as the print finish is second to none, but it feels really premium. Using an in-house HP Indigo 7800 digital press it sets the standard for premium quality digital print. Using liquid ink rather than dry toner powder, the print quality is on par with traditional lithographic printing with the benefits of less waste, which is of course great news for the environment.
Our calendars come in a Kraft button tie envelope with a hand stamped Strong Island logo so they are ready to pop in the post or give as a gift. You can see our 2019 Calendar HERE for a visual reference.
As always this is a very limited print run and we always sell out before Christmas so please be quick to avoid disappointment. We hope to have physical copies available for collection, delivery and in the shop by the 25th October. We will update you with further information as soon as possible. Please note the following images are visuals only, but each page shown is part of the final calendar.
*Supplier costs have sadly increased again this year. We have done our best to absorb the cost with both the calendar and packaging.
