    STRONG ISLAND // 2019 CALENDAR

    STRONG ISLAND // 2019 CALENDAR

PRE-ORDER ONLY: This year saw an unprecedented amount of entries for our Strong Island 2019 Calendar. With over 1600 photos submitted it was most certainly a daunting task to select 35 images to design the final calendar. No easy task I can assure you, but the result is something we are really proud of. With a fantastic selection of new and familiar entrants, our 2019 Calendar features a broad range of professional and amateur photographers including the highest amount of phone photography to date.

A proportion of each calendar sale will be donated to the Portsmouth Hospitals Charity in support of local Strong Islander and prolific photographer Johnny Black.

He is fund raising for all the amazing help he received at QA Hospital, Portsmouth when being diagnosed with lung cancer just months before his wedding. Johnny & Martine are raising money as part of their ‘alternative wedding’ list and we wish to help in any small way we can. You can also donate directly via the following link HERE.

Our 2019 Calendar features photos from the following people: Alex Lombardi, Andrew Malbon, Benjamin Atkins, Callum Skene, Charlotte de Quatrebarbes, Christine Matchett, Doug Howell, Gemma Stoneman, Grzegorz Kopacz, Hannah Wilson, Howard Hurd, Ian Pears, Johnny Black, Lisa Mundy, Michelle Lucocq, Ollie Denny, Russell Leggatt, Sarah Marston, Shaun Roster, Sheila Mackie, Todd Lawton and Tom Goss.

Each calendar is printed on 300sgm (350gsm Cover) Fedrigoni Arcoprint. This wood-free paper has a high-tech, cool white base guaranteeing excellent printability and is held in very high regard in publishing and printing industries. The guys at RIPE certainly delivered with this paper stock. It not only looks amazing as the print finish is second to none, and it feels really premium. Using an in-house HP Indigo 7800 digital press it sets the standard for premium quality digital print. Using liquid ink rather than dry toner powder, the print quality is on par with traditional lithographic printing with the benefits of less waste, which is of course great news for the environment.

There is a very limited run and we always sell out, so please be quick to avoid disappointment. We hope to have physical copies available for collection, delivery and in-store by the start of November. We will update with further information as soon as possible. Please note the following images are visuals only.

    STRONG ISLAND // 2018 CALENDAR

This year we have another strong selection of photos from names that will be familiar to Strong Island followers, such as David Tuckwell, Johnny Black, Andrew Malbon, Billie CawteRebeka Ashton and Howard Hurd. There are also first time inclusions from Christine Matchett, Tom Goss, Tony Wallace, Josh Holgate and Christopher Gambs. Of course a Strong Island Calendar wouldn’t be complete without Jon Neil, the only photographer to have been featured in every edition so far!

A proportion of the profits from the calendar will again be going to the Alzheimer’s Society‘s Portsmouth based services. They are the UK’s leading care and research charity for people living with dementia and their carers.
